What is happening in 2010?
Edserve is working with the Australian Vocational Education and Training Research Association to codify their annual conference procedures and documentation so that a Conference Manual will assist with future event management . Edserve staff will interview key personnel, collect relevant documentation, analyse and sort information, and prepare the Manual. The research project requires knowledge and skills of professional learning in a tertiary VET context, and event management.
Sandra Kenman and Kerri Hicks-Schilling are continuing to work
with Leighton Contractors Pty Ltd to assist in managing the Registered Training Organisation. Sandra and Kerri assisted Leighton Contractors establish themselves as an RTO for Rail Infrastructure.
Kerri is also working with the EREA
Flexible Learning Centre Network to help train a number of teachers in
Certificate IV Training and Assessment, and contributing to the
overall continuous improvement of this RTO. If you are
interested in enrolling in one of the EREA FLCN courses visit www.ereflc.org.au.
Sandra is also providing consultancy services
to Edmund Rice Education Australia (Qld) so that schools receive
support in implementing VET.
Edserve has provided secretariat services for a
number of teacher professional associations such as Australian Federation of Societies for Studies of Society and Environment (AFSSSE) and Queensland History Teachers Association (QHTA), as well as Conference Secretariat for Business Educators' Association of Queensland (BEAQ), Queensland History Teachers Association (QHTA), and VETnetwork Australia.
Key events this year which Edserve are managing
include:
- the state
conference for the Queensland History Teachers Association – www.qhta.com.au
- the national conference for Business
Educators’ Australasia – www.beaq.org.au
- the national conference for VETnetwork Australia in Adelaide in September - www.vetnetwork.org.au
Lastly, but very important...Edserve is also
supporting the marketing of a new graffiti removal product,
Graffiti-Enz. Barry Kenman from Edserve is in partnership with
three others to develop and distribute this new ‘invention’ – an
enzyme based, environmentally friendly product. Brisbane City
Council now stocks this product at their ward offices and customer
service centres, for BCC residents. If you have a graffiti problem and live in the
Brisbane area, you can collect your
free kit. If you are a commercial organisation and wish to purchase the product go to www.graffiti-enz.com.au.
Gold Coast and Logan City Councils are also using the product and other councils are considering stocking the product as well. Many
schools are already using Graffiti-Enz. It will remove unsightly graffiti
without causing any damage to the painted surface.
