Edserve Services

Edserve is a consultancy business specialising in the production of educational resources and project management, particularly in vocational education and training contexts. Following is a summary of some of Edserve resources and services.

WORKPLACE NUMERACY

Edserve has produced a Teacher’s Handbook on CD, and two student textbooks Maths at Work Book 1 and Book 2. These resources are designed for young adults about to enter the workforce. Activities based on real life workplace and every day scenarios build numeracy skills and confidence. Students develop competencies for the workplace and life skills.

Maths at Work Book 1 contains basic maths activities in a variety of workplace contexts. Maths at Work Book 2 provides additional activities more closely linked to Training Packages for Construction and Engineering; Business Services; Sport and Recreation; Health; Catering and Hospitality. The rules and content for performing basic calculations are placed at the back of the book so that emphasis is placed throughout the texts on content.

The activities also link to Levels 3 and 4 of the Australian National Framework of Adult English Language, Literacy and Numeracy Competencies, which have been incorporated into the National Reporting System (NRS).
